My name is Giovanna Bellia LaMarca and I am here to keep Sicilian recipes alive. I wrote three Italian cookbooks: Sicilian Feasts, The Cooking of Emilia-Romagna: Culinary Treasures of Northern Italy, and the Language and Travel Guide to Sicily. Instead of writing a fourth book, I decided to join the youth on the UA-cam platform and make instructional cooking videos instead. Enjoy!

In Brazilian Portuguese lemons are called "fruta de Sicilia." Limes are "limon" like Spanish. I always enjoy your videos.

I'm from Malta south of Sicily...we do it the same but add black olives with the sauce and some even cut small feta cheese cubes and put on top.
I also love to add Feta Cheese to 🍅 tomato sauces for extra tang!

Hello Giovanna, how I simply adore everything Italian. It takes me 2 days to make my lasagna, and the bolognese sauce I make is similar to yours, except I grate the carrot, and also add a diced capsicum. I use red wine. Have never added cream. I’ll try it😀my freshly grated nutmeg goes into my bechmel sauce. However I understand also cooking with meat. It enhances the flavor. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and love of cooking. Looks great! Thanks, Giovanna for the recipe. Your poodles are so cute, especially the older one sitting on your lap. Looks exactly like my Frankie who passed in 2021. I'm going to make this recipe for my nephew's graduation. And I'm going to try the technique for toasting the bread over the flame. A lot of the recipes that I saw call for salting the tomatoes to remove the juice and adding vinegar. I am Italian-American and we have never salted the tomatoes to make a salad. I'm going to make this for my nephew's graduation party. Grazie mille!
